How to adjust the tension of the track
With the continuous increase of excavator working hours, the excavator track link pins and bushings have some wear during normal operation, causing a decrease in track tension. Therefore, reasonable adjustment of track tension can provide stable driving force for excavator walking, and to some extent, improve the service life and work efficiency of the shoe belt. Therefore, the tension of the track needs to be adjusted according to different working conditions.
After a period of walking, the track extends due to wear and tear on the chain track and driving wheel, causing the track to not maintain a certain tension and sink, making it unable to walk normally. At the same time, the lifespan of the chain track often depends on the tensioning state of the track and whether the adjustment is appropriate. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly check the sinking degree of the upper track.
The inspection method is to clean the track first, place a wooden wedge in front of the guide wheel, and then drive the track to tighten the wooden wedge. This way, the lower part of the track that is grounded is tensioned, and the loose part of the upper track sinks. Then, use a ruler to directly measure its sinking degree. The normal sinking should be between 25 and 40mm.
Let's talk about the adjustment process of track tension:
a. Remove the cover plate from the track beam.
b. Connect the rubber hose to the Grease gun.
c. Connect the other end of the rubber hose to the grease tank nozzle through the open window.
d. Use a Grease gun to press grease into the grease cylinder nozzle until the track is tensioned to a proper position.
e. When the track is too tight or needs to be disassembled, slowly loosen the air release bolt. Due to the fact that the butter in the butter cylinder is under pressure under the action of the tension spring, it can be discharged as long as it is screwed into the gap on the side of the joint. Never unscrew the screw plug to prevent it from popping out and injuring people.
Reasonable adjustment of the track tension can provide continuous and stable driving force for the excavator and avoid unnecessary damage to the track shoes. I believe that the above operating procedures can help everyone and can be flexibly applied in the actual work of maintaining equipment.
